My big man, my love, turned 29 yesterday. In true Sam style it was a weekend of all that is great about this man; adventures, relaxing, great food, great company and relishing life. So in an ode to my Sam at the ripe old age of 29 - here are 29 things I love about you:

1. I can give you just three words and you can come up with the most amazing meal that just perfectly fits what I've described.
2. You can fix anything, you handyman you.
3. You honestly think you could win Australian Idol and don't mind that I continue to refute this.

4. You love your work and have fun no matter what you're doing.

5. You call me every day just to see how I am.

6. You call me every day pretending to be an Indian Telemarketer just to tick me off.

7. You can't sit still for long, you always have to be doing something. If we're not out the door by 9am on a Saturday morning you start getting stir crazy.

8. You push me to try so many things I never would have done otherwise, and you get me to love it!

9. You can strike up a conversation with any random person and often do. You bet me at any event that you can get to know more new people than me and always win.

10. When we take the boys to the playground I have to remind you that the equipment is for the kids.

11. You encourage me in whatever new endeavour I want to try - except when I say I think I could win the marathon at the next Olympics, because, well, we still like to keep things real.

12. You always complain when we eat out that you could cook what we've ordered better, because, well you could.

13. You completed a large scale jigsaw puzzle and built a toy box while I was in the hospital with Hyrum, because you can't not be busy.

14. You dress up at Halloween, played Santa for our church Christmas party and are the first go-to anytime someone needs someone who isn't afraid to look a little bit silly.

15. You are such a loyal friend and would do anything for your mates.

16. If you see someone you vaguely know way off in the distance at the shopping centre you will yell out to them until they hear you so you can say hi. Even if you can't really remember their name.

17. You know your scriptures back to front and upside down. You can open up to any page and teach me something from them.

18. Even though you can hardly stand to sit still for long, you go to the temple, every month.

19. You ride your bike to work every day, in the rain, in the cold, when its dark and windy, so I don't have to get out of bed.

20. You have some hard core cycling thighs, they're like rocks. And a nice cycling toosh:)

21. You were by my side the whole time as I gave birth to Hyrum and Ashton and wanted so much to be helpful, listening to whatever the midwives said and repeating it over and over.

22. You get squeamish at medical shows, scared in horror movies and love watching cartoons.

23. Not satisfied to just enjoy watching shows like Dr Who and playing games like Risk, you have to start up whole societies devoted to your passions.

24. When given the choosing power at the video store the other night you picked Enchanted - not because I wanted to see it but because you did.

25. You love being a Dad and you are so good at it.

26. Your sons are two of your closest friends and you feel cut when Hyrum gets cranky at you and tells you your not his best friend anymore.

27. You're not afraid to be a good dad and do things that put you in the "not my best friend" category with your son.

28. You love me, unconditionally, unwaveringly, even when I'm whiny, stroppy, annoying, or just plain difficult to be around.

29. You make it so easy for me to love you.
